COSTS

BLS Provider CPR class - $45

BLS Provider RENEWAL - $30

Book

The AHA requires all students to have a BLS provider book available during class. The cost of books is in addition to the class fee listed above. You are encouraged to purchase one online so you can review in advance as well as have with you for further study. Books are available either in printed or electronic format. IF YOU CHOSE ELECTRONIC FORMAT IT MUST BE AVAILABLE TO YOU DURING CLASS.

To purchase books, go online at

  shopcpr.heart.org

Make sure you purchase the  AHA 2020 BLS Provider Student Manual.

Navigate to "Product Type," then "Student Materials," and chose either a print or ebook version.

If you wish, you may "rent" a printed book for the class. The fee for the rental will be $10 and may be reserved and paid for at checkout. Any damage, including writing in the book, will result in an additional $15 fee. Or, if you wish, you may purchase a book at class to take with you for $23.

"Pocket" masks will be available for purchase at class.

$2 for a key chain barrier device.

$15 for a pocket mask for adults and infants

Purchases of books and/or masks at class must be paid for in either cash or check.

Requirements for the Class

  1. All students will be required to have a student manual as mentioned above. In addition, a student must be in physical condition sufficient to fulfill the requirements to perform CPR. CPR is physically demanding and persons with severe back or other limitations should reconsider taking the course. However, every effort will be made to accommodate any physical limitation.
  2. A written exam will be given at the end of class. Again, every effort will be made to accommodate a student's particular need.
  3. The class will take approximately 4 hours (2-3 hours for renewals) depending on the size and interaction of the class. At least one break will be given about midway through the class. A student must be in the class during the entirety of the class with exception of breaks for rest-room or other necessities.
